After a poor start to the Easter weekend :( nothing good about Good Friday- cold and cloudy !!! Sat a little better with the sun coming out after a chilly start and we went on a top walk from Jacobs Ladder to the River Deben as the sun came out, then today with light winds and sunshine the best option was gets the bikes out :) So after a lazy morning we packed a picnic and headed just past one, as it's holiday weekend we steered clear of the busy prom and keep to the roads all the way to Felixstowe Ferry before turning left past the house boats and out onto the beautiful River Deben path. On reaching Kings Fleet we turned left again and have never seen so many swan on the water and in the fields :) We continued to the pretty Fakenham church where we stopped for our picnic with cracking river views ! spotting a hare and a Great spotted woodpecker :) we also ate our Easter Chocolate Bunny - 79 pence from Lidl :) On reaching Kirton we headed toward Ipswich then turned left and had to dice with death crossing the very busy A12 before heading down Grimstone Lane to our favourite spot on the River Orwell near Levington. A family were having a great time having a bbq on the beach while the kids were playing in the mud !!! There were loads of geese in the lake, fields and river , it was then back along the muddy tree lined footpaths to Trimley and then home for a much desserved cuppa - so a top bike ride over 3 hours and fingers crossed there is enough breeze to get out windsurfing tomorrow now it's getting milder !
